I took these muffins to a party and they were a big hit.

So, I did a little math conversion and came up with replacing said milk powder with cream or 1/2 & 1/2 and a little less water and wow did they turn out yummy! Thank you so much for this new family favorite. I did make a change - I used bran buds rather than bran flakes- as a result, they were dry although still tasty. While making the batter for these I kept saying there was no way these were going to turn out - the batter was very watery but they came out moist, chewey and very tasty.

I had a lovely time, sitting among the country French decor at the window, a lively Vivaldi playing in the background. And I love a good, tender, moist muffin as much as the next girl!! No need to look further for a Mimi Bran Muffin.

Also, make sure that you soak your bran (I used the Original All Bran, crushed somewhat) in the milk/oil/ eggs/vanilla mixture for at least 10 minutes or you will end up with a very soupy batter - the bran needs to absorb & be a bit mushy. A great recipe, for me there is no other now! In a separate bowl add dry ingredients; flour, Add egg, water, cream (or half & half) and (optional) orange.

I would think even though your flour may be different that you should still get the same quantity. Maybe by adding a different grain? I only had regular raisin bran and it worked great! @Kathleen, Everybodys kitchens, flours, oven and techniques are a little different so we should all expect some variable results. The batter is very runny, so use a bowl that's easy to pour from, and make sure the cereal flakes get evenly distributed- my first pour was mostly the runny part, until I figured out I should be spooning some of the bulkier part of the mixture as I poured. or "How many meals a day should you eat?"

They slid right out with a lovely color and an almost glazed crust due to the molasses and honey content. I went into the nutrition card to double check, its actually 33 carbs and 2 grams of fiber, it confused me too!

We used Brer Rabbit full flavor molasses and Wheaties cereal. Mini Fruit Tart 150 (regular is 500) Will I visit more than once or twice a month? I have quite a sweet tooth, and although these muffins aren't particularly sweet, I didn't find them to need any extra sweetener.

Im gonna get right to the recipe and steps, because its been one of those weeks and I am literally typing this hours before my deadline! flavors, you'll be disappointed unless you specifcally add them. I used whole grain spelt for all of the flour and they taste great! I also added 1/4 cup of white sugar.

Of course, it's probably because I forgot to add the raisins/craisins before baking and the recipe doesn't remind you to add them to the batter. Mostly molasses taste. These were a nice contrast to everything else at the party egs. Also I didn't have raisins on hand, so I used an equal amount of cinnamon chips instead which was a nice taste.

I've had gastric bypass, and love to bake, bad combination.

I omitted the raisins (by request). We made this recipe as it stands. If they were dry I would definitely suggest the reduction in oven temp as you did along with reduction of cooking time!
